Arable farming and vegetable growing

Dutch research is focused on product quality, reduction of nitrogen leaching and control of nematodes and other soil diseases.

Arable farmers are nearly always interested in topics relating potatoes, sugar beets and field grown vegetables like Brussels sprouts and carrots. Only a small part of the research budget is spent on cereals. Recent information about disease control and fungicide management comes mostly from research in surrounding countries.
